Where did it start?

As the son of a high school math teacher and a homemaker, I dreamt of owning a Porsche one day. I was told if I worked hard and did so honestly, I could achieve all of my dreams. After all, that’s precisely why my parents came to this country from Pakistan in the late 1960’s. Many years after starting my law firm in Arizona, I was privileged enough to find myself in a position to begin to buy those cars that were in the posters on my wall back as a kid in Indiana. And what a Porsche journey it has been! As wonderful as these machines are, I would argue the people have been even better.

Love intensifies:

It’s one thing to stare at these cars on your wall, it’s pinching yourself every day to own them and then it’s all together mind blowing to actually race them on a track, as they were intended to be. My oldest brother became a successful Physician and was finally able to buy a Porsche. His brand new 996 Turbo was the first Porsche I ever drove. He had the bug bad too, and soon we were racing GT3 RS’! For a span of about four years we were at a track nearly every weekend weather permitted. It was here my love for these masterpieces went to another level. On tracks like Watkins Glen and Virginia International Raceway, I learned that these cars spoke my love language.

CGT has entered the chat:

With all of that racing in incredible cars there was one unicorn that stood out above all the rest: The Carrera GT. However, the CGT was not on my wall back in Indiana. This car was released when I was 28 years old. But it represented to me the pinnacle of engineering, driver engagement and styling that came out of Stuttgart (Leipzig if you're a Porsche nerd). When I was finally in a position to buy a Porsche, I slowly worked my way up to the Carrera GT. It took me years to get there and years to find this car. But as many hunts go, the fun was truly in the chase. I wanted a single owner, GT Silver over Terracotta, that had been driven and cared for by a passionate owner. No small feat. But after a four year search I found the car in California, on a ranch in San Luis Obispo county. An older enthusiast, just like me, sold me the car. I promised him I would be a good steward for it while it I drove it.

Protect the unicorn: Carlas USA

But how does one protect their prized possession? Enter Carlas USA. A dear friend of mine took care of my cars for years. With meticulous care, and first place Pebble Beach ribbons littering his resume, he began to develop a paint protection film with his partners. He needed a test mule. “What better test mule than a Carrera GT?”, I said. 😂 And so my car was secretly the development mule for Carlas USA paint protection film and windshield protection film. They would install film and say, "To make this better we need 3% more tack and 10% more elasticity." They would manufacture that formulation, and then put it on my CGT. I would provide feedback and a then new iteration was developed and installed. This was repeated countless times. My critique was based on my usage of the product in the blistering heat of Arizona and the cooler temps, but saltwater filled air, of Southern California. And used it was. As of this writing, I have over 25,000 miles on my CGT and I just put 1,000 miles on it for a road trip to Monterey Car Week 2025.

So why was it hand painted?

When Carlas USA launched at SEMA in 2024, after years of research and development, it was only logical that the car that got them there be on display. And what better way to celebrate the origin story, than to have this icon of a mule be HAND PAINTED by Pinstripe Chris (@Pinstripe_Chris on IG) live, at the SEMA booth? 🐐 And that, my friends, is the origin story of the mule that was actually the G.O.A.T 🙂
